Others add sweetener
I gradually settle for minimal sugar and cream
Bitter – as most people are
Over something from long ago
After the wound has healed
But I still feel the scar
Bitter – not stinging like spicy
Not sharp like sour
Bitter – the most piercing
But necessary in doses
