How we respond to failure

People handle failure differently.

Some deny it

Some don’t deny it, but blame it on others

Some lie down, and don’t get up

Some scurry away from failure

Some can’t handle failure

Those who deny

Never learn how to defy

Never try to climb a mountain

Because all they see is the valley

Those who shift the blame

Have no honor, have no aim

Afraid of change,

In nothing but a fit of rage

Those who don’t get up

Can get up, just won’t get up

Would rather see the sky

Than the endless moving sea

Those who scuttle,

Who scurry, who settle

See the light, bathe in it, but

Don’t rage against its dying

Those who can’t handle

Can’t seem to get a grip at all.
