Baby Steps
“You should do it,” he urges. “Show them who you really are.”
My voice trembling; “I’m not sure if I’m ready to go that far.
The timing’s not right; it’s overdue; it’s too early.”
“No more excuses,” he says, his smile all white and pearly.
I mumble, “They won’t like it; I can’t handle that kind of rejection.”
He grins. “The only thing you should expect is their love and affection.”
“I’m not strong enough to endure the judging from my peers.
I feel exposed to the world, only able to hide behind my fears.”
“The world needs your spice, your spunk, your ardor.
They crave your emotion, your passion; they’ll want to try harder
To connect with you, in the way that you have with them.
This spirit of yours. It’s selfish to hide, a true gem.
Once word of this gets out, you’ll arouse; you’ll inspire.
Your words, like sparks in a dry prairie, will spread like wildfire.”
I smile, let out a deep breath I’ve been holding for far too long, and take a baby step into the world, relieved of all my dread.

The ambiguity of the context makes this seem very…
“dicey,” if you will.

this obviously describes when you decided to reveal you are hipster —
“The world needs your spice, your spunk, your ardor.” <– spice? def an indicator of hipsterness
"Your words, like sparks in a dry prairie, will spread like wildfire.” <– hipsterness via blog (cause you spread your words here)
