alternative title: an ODESZA DJ set would be soooo good
i just spent the past 3 days listening to odesza’s no sleep mixes at every possible opportunity. So, basically on my commute to and from work, in the shower, in the morning, in the car, when I’m cooking, and pretty much every other chance I have available.
These 1 hour mixes pretty much D E F I N E D my college career, as well as set the foundation for my electronic music taste. I remember late nights chilling and listening to these with my best friends and just enjoying the music and the moment so much.
Their production? Even better than what’s in these mixes.
Their live shows give me chills. I’ve never been more lost in the music than at one of their sets.
ODESZA IS THIS GENERATION’S MOZART – I would play their albums for my baby.
My first memory listening to these NO.SLEEP mixes is rather warm and cozy – sometime during freshman year, I was studying in my student dorm lounge one evening, listening to it in my pajamas. I wasn’t very productive those evenings, as I was constantly checking the tracklists, chasing down an amazing track on a mix.
A condensed list of just a few of the artists that have been major highlights from these mixes, MANY OF WHOM I WAS INTRODUCED TO THROUGH THESE MIXES:
Flume, Baauer, San Holo, Illenium, Kaytranada, Cashmere Cat, Mura Masa, Mr. Carmack, Lido, Wave Racer, Snakehips, Esta., Sango, CRNKN, Sam Gellaitry, Big Wild, Louis Futon, Ekali, Hippie Sabotage, Giraffage, Alina Baraz & Galimatias, BRANCHEZ, Ta-ku, PHAZZ, Electric Mantis, Djemba Djemba, Slow Magic
