Well…I’ve done it. I have finally, after years of speculation and curiosity, found a job. I get paid to drink as much bubble tea as I want, and to eat as many baked goods as my heart desires.

Spring Break rambling
It’s Spring Break. I promise you I have negative ability to focus today (Friday), so this is going to be a rambling train of thought in my head as I drifted off in class. My sister and I used to split up the food that we bought like troops during the war. Three chocolateContinue reading “Spring Break rambling”
Something is wrong with this class
Something is wrong; I’ve discovered a terminal illness That makes me sit in class with a death-like stillness Leaving scars on my conscience; a limb must be severed The remedy is bankrupt, despite my endeavors
Pillow talk
Schooling is not the same as education education – it is sacred. Here it is commodified – twisted, manipulated, thrown away with every spit bubble lazily popping at your mouth, every glazed over look you give your teacher
“Why We Broke Up,” the story of a heartbreak that may remind you of your own
It’s been a while since I’ve actually picked up a book and read it. While on Winter Break, I brought A Tree Grows in Brooklyn with me on vacation, the only book I’ll read during the school year. From the start of sixth gradeContinue reading “When you’re approaching the end of your high school debate career…”

Look at you now! You are so beautiful and basically a better version of yourself than backContinue reading “Letters to old friends about why we’re not friends today”
Looking back on high school
High school is just a gas station on the road trip of life, and I’m merely stopping through. I just don’t care about nearly as much as I used to, because my life here is temporary; I’m not going to be here for much longer anyways. There are so many things I want to redoContinue reading “Looking back on high school”
The 5 worst pieces of advice I’ve ever gotten about high school
5. Do your homework I do most of my homework, but some days I look at my pile and all I see is busy work. Meaningless and tedious assignments designed to make it seem as though there’s some sense of order and authority bestowed by the teacher, but everyone sees through it.
Why I wear makeup
I am not immune to the way society projects itself through the media and tries to dictate the way that we act and regard ourselves. I’ve witnessed both ends of the spectrum of body image and more specifically, makeup. I’ve seen ads that push products onto you, claiming to help hide your flaws and accentuateContinue reading “Why I wear makeup”
